Introduction

The Arista Networking - Automation Operations course is designed for network engineers with mid-to-high level experience who have prior exposure to Python and Ansible basics. This course increases proficiency both conceptually and operationally for the deployment, operation, and management of Arista EOS-based networks using modern automation tools.

You will learn the foundations of network automation using CloudVision, Python with EOS APIs, Ansible with Jinja templates, and CloudVision Studios for streamlined network provisioning and management.

Key areas of expertise you will develop include:

  • Automation & NetOps Foundations: Understand network automation history, approaches, core principles, software development practices, and automation concepts.
  • Automation Tools: Set up VS Code development environments, master Git version control with GitHub collaboration, and learn Python fundamentals for network automation.
  • Understanding APIs: Work with HTTP, REST APIs, PKI/TLS security, and REST API clients for network device interaction.
  • Ansible Fundamentals: Build automation workflows with Ansible including variables, debug, and playbook execution.
  • CloudVision Fundamentals: Deploy and manage CloudVision including high availability, provisioning, Studios, telemetry, monitoring, and AQL/NetSQL querying.
  • Ansible and Jinja: Automate configuration generation and deployment using Jinja templates with Ansible and CloudVision integration.

Upon completion, participants can take an optional practical exam for the Specialist certification. Achieving this along with the Automation Advanced certification grants the Arista Networking Professional - Automation certification.
